A Prayer

O Allah I plead before your supremacy,
Weak as I am much in spirits shattered.
My prayer, my deeds not sufficient enough for complacency.
My effort futile as not adequately am I lettered.
Every act mine on You has dependency,
Very little do I seem to have bettered.
My efforts still lesser appropriate in competency.
Aware of earlier spirits with time continuously deterred.
Distorted vision bruised as in a state of dormancy.
Yet a complete faith in Your judiciary.
Here I stand before You all fettered.
Never shaken in belief of Your authority’s permanency.
Lifting hands tonight, a heart with torments tattered.
O hear me, they have taken for granted leniency.
Thinking with glozed tongues they have flattered.
Their account with each other In discrepancy.
Dilly dallying with excuses battered.
Thus have they made a mockery with persistency
Divine recompense I seek with a heart embittered.
